Overview
The AX Solutions Architect is responsible for designing, developing and implementing business focused solutions using a holistic approach which requires understanding all systems involved and the impact proposed solutions will have on those systems.
This individual will also evaluate the technical aspects of the ERP Roadmap to ensure proper industry
standards and best practices are properly applied when solutioning Order to Cash, Procurement,
Purchase Orders, Revenue recognition capabilities and integration with other external system.
They will ensure best practice is adopted, provide technical leadership for development projects, and
work closely with the end-users, management and other technical resources to achieve the design,
perform system development and deliver the technical solution. The ideal candidate will communicate effectively and be equally comfortable conversing with business owners as with programmers and infrastructure personnel.
Responsibilities
– Identify and recommend system changes across the enterprise business systems portfolio,
whether configuration or customization, to improve/support the business process as well as the
user and, most importantly, the customer experience
– Perform gap-analyses and document functional specifications for AX enhancements as well as
integrations with other business applications
– Demonstrate Dynamics AX expertise in application configuration and design by optimizing
features, automation, user experience, data integrity, and system performance
– Drive the effective transition of requirements to successful solution delivery by ensuring a clear
and complete understanding of the requirements
– Support the Enterprise Architect by preparing and managing a 5 year application strategy that
includes Dynamics AX and associated integrations
– Oversee the effective support of the Dynamics AX application to include proactive engagement
in the remediation of software issues such as COTS code defects, configuration issues, custom
code quality, pattern mismatch and security issues across the integrated business systems
– Collaborate, manage and lead meetings with functional/business leads and technical
leads/developers to ensure each phase of an implementation or development activity is
executed in a quality and timely manner and follows SDLC best practices
– Perform full lifecycle application development in Dynamics AX and CRM including configuration,
coding, unit testing, code walk-throughs, debugging and utilize standard frameworks and coding
standards/patterns including Microsoft Team Foundation Server
– Mentor other developers, system administrators and business analysts to expand the AX and
CRM functional and technical knowledge and expertise within the team
– Attend and actively participate in meetings that pertain to assigned responsibilities
– Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications / Requirements
– Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field
– 8+ years of experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX2012/365 including multi-phase, enterprisewide implementations with customizations
– Fluent in Microsoft Dynamics AX Data Structures (2012) and tools such as DMF, Excel Add-On,
Management Reporter
– 5+ years understanding of and primary responsibility for solutions within Projects and Finance
– 8+ years’ solid experience working within an IT applications role
– Solid understanding of interoperability issues and the strengths and weaknesses of platforms
and products
– Excellent communication skills
– Should be an expert in Finance and SCM verticals
